Materials Needed:

  • Medium-sized box
  • Various small household items (e.g., toy car, spoon, key)
  • Piece of fabric to cover the box

How To Play:

  1. 1

    Step 1: Place a variety of small household items inside the box without showing the contents to the children.

  2. 2

    Step 2: Encourage each child to take turns reaching into the box without looking and feel one item at a time. They can use words to describe what they feel.

  3. 3

    Step 3: Together as a group, discuss and guess what each item might be based on its characteristics. Encourage the shy child, to share their thoughts too.
